Worthy addition for Sleepy Hollow fans

Most media tie-in books are rather boring. I'm one that wants all the additional adventures, thoughts, feelings of characters that I love. I have read tons of other books for other franchises, especially with "Star" in the title and have most times come away bewildered and disappointed. But for every five or so that I read, I come across a real gem. Luckily, I hit on a gem straight out of the box for Fox's Sleepy Hollow series: The Secret Journal of Ichabod Crane by Alexander Irvine.

Written in diary form, it goes along with the show, especially the first season, giving extra tidbits and thoughts about the strange things that happen to our Rip Van Winkle character named Ichabod Crane. There are many additions, sort of like a scrapbook of extra articles and findings. I wish I had adventures like this. It's a wonderful dive into the mind of the main character.

This is a wonderful addition if you are a fan of the show. I remember especially, way back when, Twin Peaks came out with a journal for Agent Cooper and Laura Palmer's Diary, which shed intense light on the series as a whole. Those two books really solidified my love for the series of Twin Peaks and The Secret Journal of Ichabod Crane does the same thing for Sleepy Hollow. If you are a fan, get it. If you are considering watching the show, like when you binge on Hulu or Netflix, get it.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the publisher through the Blogging For Books program in exchange for an honest review.
